Olney

Sometimes it is nice to go and have a wander around a 'quaint' town and have a lunch, and Olney which is about 30 minutes from Ampthill is a nice place to go.  It has a mix of lovely independent shops and a few small 'high street' names such as Joules and Costa.

There are several pubs, with interesting menus and lovely refurbishments.  Coffee/tea shops in abundance, a couple with pancakes on the menu too, check out the connection here, and afternoon teas.  I have eaten in the Courtyard Brasserie many times and also the Pancake Parlour, and would recommend both.

Craft wise there is my Little Vintage that offer some crafts courses and has a few bits and pieces along with paints.  And I always seem to find something in the Age UK shop next door, they have a section with a variety of craft items.

Don't forget to check down all the little alleyways to discover, there are several.

Parking is free, just watch for the time allowed to stay, some are for long stay.
